Lions Croke Place Wetlands Landcare Group

Geographical focus: Landcarers at Croke Place in Evatt are making great changes to the area surrounding the creek just downstream from Lake Ginninderra. See map.

Activities: The group meets alternating Saturdays/Sundays usually at 10am for our working bee. See the 2024 Croke Place Landcare Schedule (pdf). All welcome!

Contact: For more information, please contact group convenor Mick Brice at brice64@bigblue.net.au or call 0408 424 204. You can also connect with us via our Facebook Group.

What we get up to: Weeds such as the suckers from poplar trees, cotoneasters, Salvation Jane and many more types, are being removed, and native plants, including bird- and insect-attracting shrubs, grasses, lilies and forbs, are being planted.

Students of Miles Franklin Primary School visit the site regularly for environmental studies, nesting boxes have been built, and assistance is being given to the continuing experimentation aimed at rejuvenating this remnant of temperate grassland.
