Geographic area: Gossan Hill Nature Reserve, Bruce.
Gossan Hill is a small reserve which is heritage listed for its unique geology and Indigenous cultural heritage. Gossan Hill is also known for its abundant native wildflowers, including orchids, especially on its southern slopes dominated by dry sclerophyll forest.
Activities: This small local group holds occasional weeding work parties as needed, as well as community bird and wildflower walks. Our main weed targets have been Cootamundra wattle and St John’s wort, although ‘garden escapees’ including African daisy, freesias and gazania are also a priority.
Contact: We welcome new members, whether you’d like to help with weeding or just find out more about the Reserve. Please email gossanhill@hotmail.com
