Over the past few weeks, the team of FrogID has received a flurry of emails from concerned people who’ve seen sick and dead frogs across eastern Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
It is unclear what is causing this frog mass mortality event. Read more about this here
So far no dead frogs have been reported in the ACT but we need you to stay vigilant as some of the frog species that have been amongst the hardest hit in other places also call Canberra their home, including the Peron’s Treefrog Litoria peronii.
Here’s how you can help
Please send any reports of sick or dead frogs (and if possible, photos) to us, via the national citizen science project FrogID, or email calls@frogid.net.au.
